With this collection Nicolas Ghesquiere, he proved once again that his vision of the brand is still fresh and bold as it always was. Another success for French designer and another triumph of the iconic Parisian house.
This Louis Vuitton Spring 2017 collection was created with clear emphasis on tailoring, with open backs and shoulder cuts. We could argue whether this was Ghesquière’s comeback to high-concept fashion, something that he was known for back in a day, but we can all agree that this time he openly flirted with fashion experimentation. Asymmetric draped jersey numbers with cuts on the hip and midriff sections and sheer dresses that were seen towards the end of the show were the brightest examples of this approach, as well as the flashes of glitter and crystals, obviously inspired by the 1980s.
